A dittybag is a kit used by soldiers and sailors to carry sundry items such as sewing implements; also known in the film industry as a tool bag to hold essential gear for a shoot.
This dittybag is a series of projects that combined textiles and film to shed a modern light on mending. Directed by Kathryn Walter and Greg Woodbury, dittybag operated for 3 years between 2015 and 2017, and took the form of visual and media art projects, events, partnerships and an online presence with an aim to resonate in a world where so much stuff with so little meaning is produced in excess every day.

In 2000 she founded FELT, her studio and label, to explore modern industrial felt through installations, exhibitions and a product line. dittybag started as a division of FELT to make use of remnants and overstock from studio projects.
